Consultation Manager's Webform Builder allows you to create an online form which can be used to input data directly into your system from a website. This will typically be used by a Stakeholder on a Project website.


In this example, we will create a simple webform that captures a Stakeholder, including their Name and Email Address and a related Event, including Stakeholder Comments.


Start by clicking Tools (1), Webform Builder (2), New (3).


Once you have landed in a new Webform Builder page, you can select the Record types and fields you want to include in your form. You can also identify the Projects that these Records should be related to.


There are two options for relating Projects:

  • You allow the Stakeholder to select the relevant Project/s on the webform (4).
  • You can select the Project/s which will always be related to your Records (5).


In this example, we will pre-select the Project (5). This will automatically assign the created Stakeholder and Event record to the selected Project.


Next, select the first Record type that you wish to include (6). In this example, we have chosen Stakeholder.


Then, select the fields your Stakeholder should populate on their Record (7). In this example, we have selected First Name, Last Name and Email.


Next, click [Save Changes] and [Add another Entity] to configure additional Records which can be related to your Stakeholder.


Select the secondary Record type (10), the Project/s the Record will be assigned to (11) and the fields to be included (12). In this example, we have chosen Event and Stakeholder Comments.


Click [Save Changes] (13) and repeat the above for any additional Records you wish to include before clicking [Next] (14).


HINT: You can input a default value for any field and hide that field  to ensure that additional details are captured. For example, include the Summary field and enter a default value of "Webform Submission from Project Website".


In the next screen, check the boxes (15) to ensure the Records will be automatically related to one another and click [Next] (16).


Once you've clicked on the Next button the page will then pop up with a message: "Generating webform, please be patient."


Finally, CM will generate the HTML for your webform. This can be provided to your digital/web team to embed on your website.


You can test your form in this view by entering data into the preview version of the webform.
